Where to Stay in Jackson Hole
Our honest breakdown of every price point — from Town of Jackson budget picks to Teton Village ski-in/ski-out resorts to secluded luxury on East Gros Ventre Butte.
Quick Facts: Which Area Should You Pick?
- Town of Jackson — most hotel and dining choices, walkable Town Square, best all-around base, with options from budget to boutique-luxury. ~10 min to the Grand Teton Moose Entrance, ~1 hour to Yellowstone’s South Entrance.
- Teton Village — ski-in/ski-out at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, closest lodging to Grand Teton NP itself. About 20–30 min drive from Town Square.
- East Gros Ventre Butte — secluded luxury resorts a few minutes above town, not walkable to anything but with the best views in the valley.
In-Town Picks: Budget to Mid-Range
Walkable to Town Square, restaurants, and shops — the easiest base for first-timers.

The best value in Jackson. A genuine ~6–7 minute walk to Town Square, with free hot breakfast and both an indoor and outdoor hot tub.
- Indoor pool + 2 hot tubs
- Free breakfast, free parking
- Pet-friendly
The Virginian Lodge
Fun, lively atmosphere with a pool, hot tubs, saloon, and food trucks. Note: it’s on W Broadway — about a mile from Town Square (15–20 min walk, 5 min drive), not walkable, but a short hop by car.

- On-site dining + food trucks
- Free parking, free ski shuttle in winter
SpringHill Suites by Marriott
We stayed here ourselves and loved how close it is to downtown — an easy walk to Town Square, unlike some other mid-range options in town. Newer, modern, spacious suites with free hot breakfast, a great pick for families who want extra room and Marriott points.
- Free breakfast
- Pull-out sofas in suites
- ~8 min walk to Town Square
Hotel Jackson
Right on Town Square — boutique-luxury with a full spa, rooftop bar, and in-room fireplaces. The pick for travelers who want a real splurge without leaving downtown.
- On Town Square, walk to everything
- Full-service spa
- Rooftop bar + curated dining
Staying in town means you can walk to dinner after a full day in the park — no headlamp-and-bear-spray parking lot trek required.”
Ski-In/Ski-Out & Closest to Grand Teton
~20–30 min drive from Town Square, but the closest lodging to the park entrance and the mountain — both picks below are walking distance to the gondola and tram.
Hotel Terra Jackson Hole
Modern, sleek, roughly half the price of the Four Seasons two minutes’ walk away, with a rooftop hot tub and outdoor pool.
- Outdoor pool + hot tubs
- Walking distance to the gondola and Bridger tram
- Great for couples/adventurers
Four Seasons Resort Jackson Hole
Wyoming’s only AAA Five Diamond resort. True ski-in/ski-out, steps from the tram, and about a 3-minute drive to Grand Teton NP.
- Full-service spa, heated pool
- 5+ restaurants/bars on-site
- Best for families who want it all
Secluded Luxury, Outside Town
Both sit atop the same butte, about 10 minutes from Town Square — private, quiet, and made for the view.
Amangani
Ultra-private and adults-leaning, with panoramic Teton views from every room. A true bucket-list stay, not a family base camp.
- World-class spa
- Floor-to-ceiling valley views
- ~10 min drive to town
Spring Creek Ranch
All-inclusive luxury on the same butte as Amangani — not in Wilson, as sometimes listed. Horseback riding, spa, and multi-bedroom units make it the better pick for families and groups.
- All-inclusive: meals, activities
- Multi-bedroom townhomes/villas
- ~10 min drive to town
💡 Pro Tip: Book Early
Jackson Hole hotels — especially the luxury tier — book up months in advance, particularly for summer (June–September, best wildlife and hiking) and the December–March ski season. If you’re pairing this with Yellowstone, our 5-day Yellowstone & Grand Teton itinerary and 3-day Jackson Hole & Grand Teton itinerary both use Jackson as a home base for the first nights.
Should I stay in Jackson town or Teton Village?
Stay in town if you want walkable restaurants and the most hotel choices. Stay in Teton Village if you want ski-in/ski-out access and to be closest to Grand Teton National Park itself — just budget 20–30 minutes to get into town for dinner.
How far is Jackson Hole from Yellowstone?
About an hour or more from town to Yellowstone’s South Entrance, often longer in summer traffic — so most travelers use Jackson as their first 1–2 nights before heading north.
